Construction of the main and of the secondary drain pipes of the area of Maleme –Kolymvari

This project relates to the construction of the main and of the secondary drain pipes of the area of Maleme-Kolymvari, of a total length of 35.00 km. The main free-flow pipes are made of plastic PVC pipes with a diameter from D500mm to D800mm, the discharge pipes were made of polyethylene PE pipes with a diameter from D110mm to D355mm, while the secondary pipes were made of plastic PVC pipes with a diameter from D200mm to D315mm. Moreover, the cabins for seven pumping stations were constructed.

The project presented particular difficulties during construction due to intense depressions, resulting in the use of metallic barriers and steel sheet piles as means of support for the most part of the pipes' length.
